A thunderstorm is brewing in the distance!
While messing around with some weather files in OpenIV, I thought I should create this little thing for those people wanting lightning bolts to crash without rain, so here it is :)
Optional: Using this mod alongside VisualV (https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/visualv) will provide a more realistic and imposing feeling to the lightning strikes.
Installation instructions in the "Readme!" file.
Many thanks to a63nt-5m1th who guided me through modifying the scripts needed.
Enjoy! :)

Amazing result, and also amazing how R* forgot to make such a normal and totally natural phenomenon for their tymecyc
is this compatible with VisualV?
@FireFoxNEW Haha, true! :) Thanks!!
@AbdullahHossain Totally yes, it even makes it more beautiful :)
Its sad that impossible to make close strikes, hit vehicles and buildings
@-Sonic_Boom- I was thinking the excact same thing! I want to work on this, even make something somewhat close to lightning bolts crashing live in the map
@Morgesan THANKS! DEFINITELY USING THIS!!
@Morgesan mod or script for close and dangerous strikes will be great, when player can be shoked or died by lightning and car may explode or set on fire.
@Morgesan but i am sure lightning is just cosmetic thing in gta, it didnt cause damage, even in files those parameters doesnt exist, need scripting.
@-Sonic_Boom- I'm currently working on a script to make lightning bolts visibly more thick and striking in more natural angles :)
This is something R* could've done and implemented in the game. Glad you did it. They could've made a weather that was called storm approaching or something like that. I mean they had one called clearing so why not that?
@Morgesan wow i thought u only modding files👍. I hope u realise close bolts with damages👍👌. In thunder will be more sense than before, player must hiding somewhere to not die
what about sheet lightning during thunder storms?
@Morgesan Is it possible to turn off the sound of thunder in overcast weather? I like seeing only the lightning flashes while the weather is overcast and hearing the thunders when is actually raining, when it's overcast I only wanna see the lighting flashes but, not the thunder sounds. I don't know if that's possible to do, that's why I'm asking you.
Gives me chills
