For clarity, this changes things like light poles and traffic lights to behave like trees. So if you're yearning for your car to get wrecked when running through them, this mod if for you. Its a .NET script.

v1.0.0 - initially deals with most post like objects that aren't part of this world (kind of an ariel reference, but also any entities that have normal in game draw types). feedback is appreciated and other objects might be part of this world with your responses.
v1.0.1 - Includes pedestrians and empty vehicles parked on the side of the road.
v1.0.2 - Optimized for performance. Also comes with an editable list, take away what you don't want, add more things. I could even provide a v1.0.2b that makes all props static!
v1.0.3 - Bit of a hotfix. Tweaked the code some more and wound up being more stable for me (with the full list). I also changed the default ini list to be a lighter load (the same as what @Yoko Daisuke posted in the comments, traffic lights only).

Ok, 1.0.3 is out! waaay more stable plus the default list of objects is reduced to just traffic lights. Feel free to add to it, though the more you add the likelier you'll see a performance hit (saw about a 2-5 fps drop when testing the old default list).
@epcotsinbarboeza ya I noticed that the other day when testing. No promises but I'll look at and try to find out how those behave. You can kind of do it with a built in physics parameter but once they break, they get cleaned up and deleted by the engine. Not sure how much I can alter that without spending too much manual time.
Now I was saying to someone else that with a combo with the physics parameter mentioned, it could still cause a heavy hit, fall over with heavier weight than vanilla and do damage both times.
@dimedius AMAZING MOD! tho i won't prob use it, or atm at least, since i like destruction lol and action for machinima stuff, its still a unique mod, and i know many will like it :)
its prob NOT possible, but an EPIC mod would be, MORE destruction, like if we could shoot RPG's at buildings and rubble, and parts fall off.

I was actually liked in gta 5 you can run over lamp posts but the thumbnail of the mod made my day lol :D

I've always wanted to make a mod to fix this issue so great job! I it would be awesome if you could put in some deformation mults and collision mults to up the realism
@dodgeboy121 I won't add deformation to this mod. @mcal9909 provided some code I'll look at this weekend to possibly implement as its own standalone version (gotta test and see what it actually does though).
Would you do this mod to GTA IV ?
@TrukoFresH no I don't have that installed at this time. I believe the forum post this links to has the latest code added so anyone is welcome to analyze and implement the code to IV. I support open source and free modding to help the community grow.
Sweet mod, I'll be tryin' this out with my next playthrough! Btw, what's the trainer you used for the demo video? I've been looking for a good trainer with an instant vehicle repair option like that one!

For me, not working at all
@dimedius I don't know if anyone mentioned it in the comments but what I've noticed is that the mod locks the cars. I have noticed that many times when I steal a car and I have a wanted level (or steal a truck in https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/ammu-nation-truck-hijacking-eddlm-alex-shepard) and get out of it, then it is locked and can't get back in. It happens many times (not always). Maybe the script perceives it as an object too. Please check it out. Thanks!
@gorgonut might be conflict somewhere or a mod you're using. I use both a car locked mod (random vehicles in traffic have locked doors) and the lockpicking mod. I took those out and the cars worked as expected. This was tested while having a wanted level myself. That mod doesn't exist so can't see if there might be a conflict there or not.
All this mod does is freeze objects position (and doesn't even touch vehicle hashes).

@dimedius Thanks for this. Always felt it was stupid that a huge metal post wouldn't stop a car but a chain link fence sometimes would.
