Updated spawn colors for the mpvalentines2, mpjanuary2016 & mpxmas_604490 vehicles.
This is a pack containing three separate carvariations.meta files. These three updates were very small (four vehicles in total), so I'm uploading them together.
1.1 Hotfix:
- Hopefully fixed the mpvalentines2 crash. Was a case of a duplicated ">" in the file. Thank you to Bondergomme for finding it!
Installation:
- Take the carvariations.meta file from mpxmas_604490 and drop it in mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/mpxmas_604490/common/data
- Take the carvariations.meta file from mpvalentines2 and drop it in mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/mpvalentines2/common/data
- Take the carvariations.meta file from mpjanuary2016 and drop it in mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/mpjanuary2016/common/data
Color references are from real life and personal preference.

@Monkeypolice188 Ah, I get it now, my apologies as I couldn't really understand what you were saying at first.
He might release an add-on pack with these changes or he may just leave it as is.
He
So quick question, is it normal to add spawn colors to a vehicle and upon loading the game, it will crash?
I'm kind of confused as the Valor is the only vehicle I've seemed to have this bug with?
@Ethical
Yeah, I'm getting a crash while loading the game as well. There is something with the valentine carvariations.meta that the game doesn't like. Until a fix I just removed it, the other two work perfectly though.
@TrustNo1 I'm not sure why that happens either, nothing seems to be wrong with the values that are given in this pack.
@Monkeypolice188 Yes that is the plan once they're all completed. I'm going to compile them into a DLC pack.
@TrustNo1 @Ethical I had that issue when creating this pack. After copying over the entry from btype3 and then modifying it, it worked and hasn't had any issues since. I will look into it but if there isn't a good fix I'll just remove the mpvalentines2 file.
@Skysder
Hmm that's strange. I looked in the file and didn't anything wrong or out of place so I just removed it since it was just the one car. Anyways, love your work, can't wait for the next mods lol. :)
@Ethical @TrustNo1 Crash should be fixed. Give it a go and let me know!
@Skysder Forget about a dlc, all these "carvariations.meta" files can be easily put together into an oiv package. Much easier to install and no need to mess with the dlclist.xml. As it matter of fact I've being downloading all your Updated Spawn Colors mods to later pack 'em into an oiv for future patch updates.
@Skysder
Works perfectly now, thank you!! Crazy how one little misplaced > can crash your game lol. :)
@JAM102970 Doing my job for me I see! Well, in that case maybe we should work together. I have no clue how to create an .OIV but that’s still a ways off as I still need to get through 2015/2014 carvars.
I find that the best way to install these is to place them into mods/update/update.rpf/dlc_patch/mpvalenines2/common/data
This method has worked for everything except mptuner (which doesn't have a folder in dlc_patch yet) and doesn't waste any extra space.
I love these type of mods, perfect for those who put dlc vehicles in traffic and so on. Keep it up!
@Skysder I'll give it a shot.
@Tuppence870 However wouldn't that method overwrite the vanilla carvariations for that dlc if you add any carvariations to the dlc_patch?
@Ethical If you put it in the Mods folder in OpenIV, then you'll still have the original copy in the Update folder (which is the same as any mod)
@Skysder I don't mind doing an oiv package for you as long as you credit me and mention my name: JAM102970, as the one that created the oiv package for you. Are you planning on doing all the dlc's that have carvariations.meta files in them? If so, then you still have a shit load to go, about 16 more (mpbusiness, mpheist, mplts, mpluxe, mppilot, mpstunt, spupgrade, mpchristmas2, mphallowen, mpheist4, mpluxe2, mpbeach, mpbusiness2, mphipster, mpindependence and mpvalentines), and some of those have two carvariations.metas at two different paths as well. Lucky for you the "patchday" dlcs don't have carvariations.metas in them. I'm gonna continue downloading your modified carvariations.metas and installing them in my game, I'll gather 'em up until you tell me the last one has been uploaded. Once I confirm you uploaded the last mod of this type then I'll work on an OpenIV package for you. I'll probably upload it to mega.nz and give you a private link for you to download. In the meantime, I'll be monitoring your uploads, drink some Monsters and eat your milk and cookies before bedtime. ;-)
@Tuppence870 Doing that would replace the original spawn value IDs?
What I'm trying to say is that if you replace the carvariations in a dlc_patch that doing so will overwrite any original values as Skysder doesn't include vanilla IDs in his carvariation mods.
@Ethical I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to say exactly.
The carvariations file does only 3 things for the vehicles included: sets their colours, selects their modkits (customisation parts) and selects their light/siren settings. The modkits and light/siren settings use ID's that refer to a separate file called carcols, where they are detailed in full.
Regardless of how you get Skysder's carvariations to work, they will always replace the original files made by Rockstar. If you wanted to, you could manually add Skysder's colours to the original files in order to keep both sets of colours, but there is no way to have both files work at the same time.
@Tuppence870 You understood what I said at the end bit there, it's hard explaining how this stuff works through text.
I'm saying that flat out overwriting Rockstars original color values would be more of a bad thing, especially with how easy it is to just add the spawn colors alongside Rockstars ones, but if you want you can do you as I don't ever replace anything of Rockstars for the fear or desecrating a great game.
