Nice car, but the textures seem a little broken: https://i.imgur.com/gnfNCLG.png
@Ethical I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to say exactly.
The carvariations file does only 3 things for the vehicles included: sets their colours, selects their modkits (customisation parts) and selects their light/siren settings. The modkits and light/siren settings use ID's that refer to a separate file called carcols, where they are detailed in full.
Regardless of how you get Skysder's carvariations to work, they will always replace the original files made by Rockstar. If you wanted to, you could manually add Skysder's colours to the original files in order to keep both sets of colours, but there is no way to have both files work at the same time.
@Ethical If you put it in the Mods folder in OpenIV, then you'll still have the original copy in the Update folder (which is the same as any mod)
I find that the best way to install these is to place them into mods/update/update.rpf/dlc_patch/mpvalenines2/common/data
This method has worked for everything except mptuner (which doesn't have a folder in dlc_patch yet) and doesn't waste any extra space.
Excellent mod! I've wanted something like this since GTA IV, and I'm happy to report that it works really well and the customisation really helped to make it work better for my taste (personally I found the default values a bit too difficult, especially given that you'll reach 4 stars before getting enough kills to escape 1 star).
This is a very cool looking truck, but as Partizancheg mentioned, it looks like the taillights don't line up with their housing properly. I can only imagine it's a mistake because it doesn't look like that in the screenshots.
I should clarify that I am not in any way involved in the creation of this mod nor its author. I'm simply trying to work out why game don't work good.
@Mlbshowdown2002 I must've been tired when I wrote that, because it was actually cvehiclestreamrequestgfx & cvehiclestreamrendergfx that I used to fix it. Just copy+paste this over those values and it should be back to normal:
<Item>
<!-- R* cap = 60 : Unknown usage-->
<PoolName>cvehiclestreamrequestgfx</PoolName>
<PoolSize value="60"/>
</Item>
<Item>
<!-- R* cap = 100 : Unknown usage-->
<PoolName>cvehiclestreamrendergfx</PoolName>
<PoolSize value="100"/>
</Item>
I downloaded this pack looking for a stock-ish Stromberg, but it surprised me with how some of these cars are so much damn fun to drive! The 169 Penne might actually be the most enjoyable car I've ever driven in GTA V.
Is it me, or is this truck really small? https://i.imgur.com/dKHrZJN.png
