The post that the Redditor was talking about is "GTA V Texture Quality Screenshot Comparison & Performance Impact", by the way.
I was reading about the technical way GTA V works (how it loads textures etc), and I found this comment on Reddit saying "I decided to give a shot to very high textures after reading this post restrictions be damned on my i7/750M laptop with relatively high settings and MSAA turned off & the strangest thing happened, the FPS actually went up & eliminated the few instances of stuttering were gone! I kept testing this for hours as I had to make sure I wasn't getting delusional and the only explanation I can figure at this point is that the very high textures are loaded by default & lowering them adds CPU load to compress them. I may be wrong of course but the improved performance speaks for itself."
So this mod reduces CPU load by changing the game's default "Very high" textures to the "Normal" textures, so that the CPU doesn't compress textures all the time.
*That* is how it works.
And maybe setting the textures to "Very high" even without this mod installed can give a better performance, according to the Reddit user.
@N8Gamez I've noticed that the Google Drive link is a compilation of the files I've uploaded. Doesn't the newer version update those files? I used to upload back in January/February 2021; does this version add something to the x64 files? Or is it just an update for Cayo Perico?
Either way, it's a great mod. What EATEOT is to ambient music, this mod is to GTA V.
@N8Gamez Also, my Internet is now much quicker than it previously was. I was able to re-download the entirety of GTA V in a few hours, and this mod's x64 files in a few minutes.
Sadly, the future is no longer what it was.
@N8Gamez Hey sorry, I haven't really been playing GTA V (or games in general) all that much in 2021. I couldn't remove the links but I'm glad someone uploaded the whole mod in a single file :). I'll probably get back to action again now and download the new version to see how it is. Great job at the mod btw, it's really good.

Still have to upload update.rpf and dlcpacks but this is pretty much done now, since all the other files are much lighter in terms of MBs/GBs and file size was the main problem I was having with the uploads.
