The 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner and other vehicles manufactured by subsidiaries of the Chrysler corporation in the late 60's and early 70's were actually some of the better handling cars of the time and even by current standards corner remarkably well for their size and age. This is attributed mainly to the vehicles torsion bar front and leaf spring rear suspension which is just as functional as it is primitive. In addition to having a more effective suspension system than most vehicles of the time, the 1970 Roadrunner was available with a monster 440 cubic inch 7.2L big block V8 Equipped with three two barrel Holly carburetors as opposed to the standard single 2 or 4 barrel Carter carbs. Similar to the 454 found in the SS Chevelle, the Chrysler 440 produces such immense torque that less powerful versions than the Six Pack were used to power Winnebago motorhomes and thus neglected vintage motorhomes have now laughably become a parts source for low buck muscle car engine swaps.
The 440 Six Pack's factory output was advertised at 390 horsepower and 490 foot pounds of torque and like most other factory performance engines of the time it was mildly underrated to prevent unwanted attention from insurance companies that were homing in on the factory race car scene hell bent on making an extra dollar. Despite it's large cast iron V8 engine the first generation Road Runners are relatively light cars weighing in between 3300 and 3600 pounds depending on optional equipment and unlike the Chevele SS the Roadrunner actually has a chance of making it around the occasional corner at reasonable speeds.
I recommend using the LeFix Speedo so you can see what speed you crashed at.

Two separate handling files are included, 3 speed automatic and 4 speed manual. You may use only one at a time.
To install with OpenIV you simply copy one of the two new handling files you intend to use and replace the blades handling line in the hipster dlc pack.

Yep, sure is, unique.
Please make Mercedes-Benz w220
This is beautiful. Could you create a new I guess paint job for the roadrunner? This mod is missing the black stripe in the center of the air grabber hood and the roadrunner decal on the front fender followed by the dust trail that runs the length of the car. I hope you can do this if not I hope someone will.
@darkestgearhead Thanks, I took some good pics of it and setup the handling but full credit for the car goes to @esprit. Unfortunately though he has not updated it in a long time. I have already tried very hard to black out the hood but this car is not able to accept liveries for some reason. I have tried replacing other muscle cars with liveries such as the buffalo, stallion and gauntlet race cars but nothing will allow me to put graphics or decals on the car. Hopefully the original uploader or potentially someone else with the right knowledge will fix that.
@Impactjunky damn that sucks but yea maybe the right person will come along and take care of that issue
how do i lower the front end so it's leveled, it's to high
@kenjioshi It's actually not, look up some pics of stock 1968 to 1970 Road Runners and you will see that the front sits higher than the rear straight from the factory. This was done on purpose to promote rearward weight transfer to help the car get better traction with the crappy bias ply tires that were available at the time. The look of a muscle car with its rear end sitting high originally came from people putting oversized rear tires on them to help them launch better. Eventually it became simply a trend and people started raising their rear suspension just for the look even if they didn't need to raise it to fit bigger tires. I'm planning on making more handling files for this car with it setup in old school street (front torsion bars raised) and drag (rear leaf springs raised) stances with a bit more power and traction to simulate mild modifications.
But in the meantime you can alter the front/rear ride height bias yourself by editing this line. <fSuspensionBiasFront value="0.470000" />
@Impactjunky thank you
@Impactjunky to lower do i raise these values up or down
@kenjioshi I honestly don't remember, I think making the number larger makes the front go higher though.
Try changing from <fSuspensionBiasFront value="0.470000" /> to <fSuspensionBiasFront value="0.460000" /> if that doesn't lower the front then try <fSuspensionBiasFront value="0.480000" />
@Impactjunky thanks, lowering the values lowers the cars front end, i changed to 350000 for perfect level
@kenjioshi Most welcome, hope you enjoy your new stance/ride height.
5star
@mitchellhemi Thanks, now can I have a cookie too?
@Impactjunky They're in the cookie jar.
@Impactjunky could you make a skin for the roadrunner with the hood stipe maybe in hemi orange or sublime green
@darkestgearhead I'd love to but unfortunately the author that posted the car didn't make it able to accept liveries and I don't know how to update it. And it's funny you mention sublime green because my daily is a sublime 68 Satellite Roadrunner clone with a black 6 pack hood :) You can see it on my channel if you are interested.
@Impactjunky you lucky dog
If I had an addon I would download
I have one problem the link doesn't work do you have another link doe the Roadrunner?
